MEET THE KRYPTON HOCKEY TEAM

Ian Naude
Ian Naude, owner of Krypton Hockey, has been involved with coaching of field hockey spanning over 20 years. He is a qualified SAHA Level 2 Coach and SAHA Level 0 and Level 1 Facilitator. He has been involved with the coaching of National and Provincial school teams, club teams and university teams. He was a lecturer in field hockey at Tygerberg College and developed other coaches.
He is also a qualified PADI Open Water Instructor with more than a hundred certification form Discover Scuba Programmes to training Dive Masters. Currently he is coaching the Maties Mens 3rd and 5th side, Boland U/16A, Boland U/16 High Performance squad and Somerset College U16/A

Kyle Lottering
Kyle Lottering has represented South Africa at U/16, U/18 and U/21 level. In 2008 he was included in the Junior World Cup squad representing South Africa in Egypt. He has also played for the WP senior mens side for two consecitive years in 2009 and 2010.
Even though he is still playing at club level, he has also set his eyes on the development of youth players and started his own specialised drag flicking academy. He is also Head Coach for San Souci Girls High School and Reddam House girls U/14

Martin Schouten
Martin Schouten has represented the Boland u/18 team and was included in WP U/21 team in 2014. Previously he has been on the coaching staff for Bridge House College and Paul Roos High School where he coached at U/14 and U/16 Level. He also coached the Boland u/14 boys team and currently forms part of the Boland High Performance coaching team.
In 2015 Martin decided to hang up his playing boots and concentrate on his coaching academy and work with the development of individual players and continue to improve the performance of the teams he is involved with.

Jacques Grobler
Jacques Grobler represented SWD at U/18 level and since then started a very successfull coaching career. He has been involved with the coaching of teams since 2006 and been involved with the coaching of U/7 teams to U/21 provincial teams. It is truely a rare ability to work with players at so many different levels.
Currently he is Head Coach for Somerset College, Maties Vics Team, Boland U/18 B and Boland U/18 High Performance squad. He is also involved with the Boland PSI indoor teams and won the devision championships in 2014

Jacques le Roux
Jacques Le Roux have been in the goals for over a decade now, having represented Boland at school boy level and Western Province at both U/21 and Men’s senior level. He debuted in 2008 for the South Africa Junior men’s team against Pakistan, and went on to play at the Men’s Junior World Cup in Singapore and Malaysia in 2009.
Having debuted for the South African Men’s team in 2011 at the Africa Cup, Olympic qualifiers in Bulawayo Zimbabwe, he has had the privilege to attend the 2012 London Olympic games as the number 2 GK for South Africa
His Goalkeeping Academy, GK101 has worked with many top schools and individuals and clubs in the Western Cape region, changing the mindset and helping to fully equip teams and GK’s to be a dominating force on the hockey field.

Jean Pierre de Voux
Jean - Pierre de Voux started playing his hockey with Central juniors. He showed great promise and his led to an amazing opportunity to finish his schooling at one of the most prestigious boys schools in South Africa. After a successful 3 year experience at Bishops he moved on to play and study at Stellenbosch.
During his undergraduate studies he won 3 national university tournaments and 2 WP league titles. Not being able to break into the national team he decided to do a part-time postgraduate degree to allow time for training. Since 2013 he has cemented his place in the National team and is the only player to have played in all of 2014's internationals. In his 54 caps he has represented South Africa in the 2014 World Cup and the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Illse Davids
Illse Davids is a Cape Town born hockey player. At the tender age of 18 she represented South Africa U21 at the 2005 Junior World Cup. After an amazing performance she was offered a full scholarship to one of America's top hockey playing universities. She went on to win 2 national championships with them!
She currently resides and studies in Stellenbosch. Since she joined Maties women last year she has already won 2 WP league titles, a national university tournament and the inaugural varsity cup.
In her 140 caps she has represented South Africa at the 2012 London Olympics, 2014 Hockey World Cup and the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Dylan Swanepoel
Originally from Johannesburg, Dylan Swanepoel moved to Cape Town at a very young age. He went to school at Bridge House where he first started playing hockey. In high school at Paul Roos Gymnasium, Hockey was never one of his main focuses until he got included included in one of the Junior National Squads.
From there he represented South Africa at various age groups as well as captaining the SA U/21 Team at the Junior World Cup. To date he has represented the senior team on 22 occasions, including this years World Cup.
Dylan is in his third year at the University of Stellenbosch, and is studying towards a BCOMM Degree.

Shannon Boucher
Shannon knew from a young age that he wanted to go far in hockey. He started out in the u14b team and after thousands of hours of hard work and dedication ended up captaining the WP u18 team and making the SA u17 team. Shannon went on to play in every provincial tournament. He represented SA u21 at the Junior African Cup of Nations tournament, which SA ended up winning. He is a prolific striker, ending as top goal scorer for most of the tournaments/events he has partaken in.
Living by his moto, 'Climb Everest every day', 2015 earmarked his international career and was included in the South African Men's Senior Team for a series against Belgium, Netherlands and Ireland.
Shannon is a highly competent coach who is in the process of completing his SAHA level 2 coaching accreditation. He holds the title of Rhenish Girls' High Head of Hockey and first team coach.

Tiaan Steyn
Tiaan is the newest addition to the Krypton Hockey Coaching team and supported by JDH. He holds a BA degree in sports science and a SAHA Level 1 coaching accreditation. In 2012 he Coached the Swartland High School's U/16 A team to an unbeaten season. Currently he is the head coach for Swarland High School as well as for the Boland U/18 Barlinka regional team. Appart from his involvement with the Boland High Performance training programme, he also coaches privately from U/6 to U/18
